1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies LSTT Solutions Oy ('LostFit', 'we', 'us', 'our') uses on our public marketing website, lostfit.fi (the 'Website'), and why. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

The LostFit Trainer App and Client App are separate products with their own session and authentication cookies, described in the Privacy Policy. This page covers the public Website only.

2. Your choice about analytics

The Website shows a short banner asking whether you accept analytics. We ask because our analytics tool stores an identifier in your browser, and under the ePrivacy rules implemented in Finland (Act on Electronic Communications Services 917/2014, section 205) storing information on your device for that purpose requires your consent. We do not rely on legitimate interest for it.

Until you make a choice, nothing is stored on or read from your device. Your visit is counted in the same cookieless way described below for visitors who decline — through a temporary identifier derived on our analytics provider's servers from a value that is rotated and discarded every day. The banner is not a formality: what it controls is whether an identifier is placed in your browser, which is the thing consent is required for.

If you accept, we store an identifier in your browser so we can tell repeat visits apart and understand how people move through the site across sessions.
If you decline, we store nothing on your device. Your visit is still counted, but only through a temporary identifier that our analytics provider derives on its servers from a value that is rotated and discarded every day. It cannot be linked to you, to your device, or to your visits on any other day.

We remember your choice so we do not have to ask again. That record is strictly necessary to honour the choice you made and is listed in the table below.

You can change your decision at any time using the Analytics settings control at the bottom of this page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it (GDPR Article 7(3)).

The locale cookie stores a single value (fi or en) and contains no personal data beyond your language choice. It is never sent to any third party.

If you decline analytics, the only entry from this table that is created is __ph_opt_in_out_… — the record of your decision itself. Nothing else is written to your browser. Clearing site data for lostfit.fi removes all of the above, which also means the consent banner will appear again on your next visit.

4. Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the Website — for example, which pages are popular and how visitors found the site. PostHog is provided by PostHog Inc., and our account is hosted in PostHog's EU region, in Frankfurt, Germany. Your data is not transferred outside the EU or EEA. PostHog acts as our data processor under a data processing agreement.

Regardless of whether you accept or decline, PostHog is configured to:

store nothing on, and read nothing from, your device until you have answered the consent banner;
never record what you type into forms, and never capture page content automatically — we send only a small set of events we have defined ourselves, such as which page was viewed;
never be used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or behavioural marketing; and
never share your data with any further third party for their own purposes.

If you decline, PostHog additionally stores nothing whatsoever in your browser, does not determine your location from your IP address, and cannot recognise you as a returning visitor.

5. Third-party embeds

Where the Website links out to third-party services — such as app store listings or social media pages — those third parties may set their own cookies once you land on their site. Those cookies are governed by the third party's own policies, not this one, and we encourage you to review them.

6. Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies through their settings. Blocking or clearing them will mean your language preference and your analytics choice are not remembered between visits, so the consent banner will appear again. The Website will otherwise continue to work normally.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we change our analytics setup or add new functionality to the Website. We will publish the updated version here and indicate the date of the latest revision at the top of the document.
